2-Year-Old Who Lost Both Arms And Legs Gets Amputee Doll That Looks Just Like Her

Harmonie Rose Ivy Allen was just 11 months old when she contracted meningitis B and had to have both arms and legs amputated.

But now Harmonie has a friend she can truly relate to, in the form of a specially-made amputee doll that looks just like Harmonie.

A Step Ahead Prosthetics modify American Girl dolls for amputee kids so that children missing limbs don’t feel any different to their special dolls. Parents send dolls to the company and they modify them free of charge for kids around the world.

And Harmonie, now two, was delighted with her new pal, saying, “Mommy, she’s just like me!”

Here’s a very pleased (and totally adorable) Harmonie covering her new best friend in kisses.

“As you can see, she is already loved very much in this house,” said Harmonie’s mom, “I know [the doll] will be Harmonie’s best friend forever.”

In fact, the pair are already inseparable.

And Harmonie — rightly — feels like she can take on the world.
