Source: Sports Illustrated

Ashley Graham is the first plus-sized model ever to be on the cover of Swimsuit Issue. The women who ever get the chance to be on the biggest sports magazine are Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks or Beyonce. “I’ve never experienced anything like this! This is so much fun,” Graham commented. “It’s great to see all the men come out here. I have a lot of female fans, and it’s really nice to see that men are desirous of girls my size as well.”

The average woman from the 1960s weighed between 140-150 pounds and was a size 12-14. Today she’s 166 pounds and at least, a size 14. Even Marilyn Monroe, a sex icon wasn’t even close to a size 12 at her peak.

But Ashley Graham wasn’t the only “plus-size” model to be on Sports Illustrated. Robyn Lawley was one of the first women to be in its pages. More and more women are breaking the mold and showing you don’t need a tiny waist to have a smoking hot body. We’re featuring some of the hottest “plus-size” models and how they broke into the fashion and modeling industry to be the most sought after women of 2016.
