Ever want to know what it’s like to be cremated?
It’s like a secret club but once you join, you burn down to nothing but ash… and apparently, people want to know what it’d be like to join that secret club without the whole “flaming death” thing.
At the Window of the World amusement park in Shenzhen, China, two Chinese philanthropists have created The Samadhi Game.
It’s like a theme park ride but instead of getting into a seat, for about $40, you get into a coffin.
Once inside, the coffin, complete with living passenger, moves along into a replica crematorium.
They are then blasted with bright light and hot air (up to 104F!) to give them the “authentic experience of burning.”
That sounds absolutely horrifying.
After feeling a simulation of being burnt alive, a womb is projected on the ceiling and the ride-goer has to crawl into a white padded area where they’re “reborn.”
That whole thing sounds super traumatic but it’s all about getting people to think about life and death, and to hopefully help some overcome their fear of death.
That is if they don’t actually die of fear while facing their simulated cremation.
