Artists spend their entire lives trying to outdo themselves. They try to write a better book, compose a better song, or paint a better picture than the last one. Actors are artists, too, and they are eternally striving for better performances.

But actors, like all artists, are known to fail. When they fail, their failures are usually pretty spectacular. Movies lose millions of dollars, reputations are ruined, and careers may even end. It’s tough to find the line between making a good movie and earning enough money to live. Many actors HATED certain movies they did, such as the actors listed below:
1. Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron has made some amazing movies, but one she is not pleased with is Reindeer Games. Though it has a star-studded cast-including Gary Sinise and Ben Affleck-the movie ended up losing money and receiving poor reviews. She is quoted as saying, “Reindeer Games was not a good movie.”
2. Daniel Radcliffe
Harry Potter, hating his own movie? Daniel Radcliffe dislikes Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince because he considered his acting to be “one note”, stating that he got complacent and failed to act properly.
3. George Clooney
Good ol’ George has a few roles he probably wishes he had never accepted, but none more than Batman in Batman & Robin. He had stated that he thought he might have killed the Batman franchise, given that the film was such a “monumental failure”-especially considering the success of other Batman films.
4. Sylvester Stallone
As an action hero, Sly is known for movies like Rocky, Rambo, and The Expendables. And then there’s Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot. Stallone has had many disparaging things to say about the movie, even going so far as to compare it to torture!
5. Ben Affleck
Many Ben Affleck movies have bombed, or failed to perform as desired, but Affleck himself regrets Daredevil the most. Though there was no concrete reason why the movie didn’t work, he accepts that it didn’t hit the mark as he desired.
6. Robert Pattinson
Hard to believe that Twilight’s Edward would have anything bad to say about the movie franchise that made him millions, but he considers Edward to be “the most ridiculous person”. He hated the character more as he read the script, stating, “he’s a 108 year-old virgin so he’s obviously got some issues there.”
7. Alec Baldwin
The Broadway musical, The Rock of Ages may be a huge hit, but the movie failed miserably. Alec Baldwin called the movie a “complete disaster” and has repeatedly mentioned how much he regrets filming it.
8. David Cross
Known as the villain in the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies, David Cross regrets his role in the Chipwrecked movie immensely. Not because of his acting, but because the movie is a “big commercial for Carnival Cruise Lines”. He even discouraged people from attending the cinema to watch it!
9. Jim Carrey
Few comedians are better-known for their work, but Jim Carrey went way out of his comfort zone in Kick-Ass 2, a role he regrets. The movie opened after the events of Sandy Hook, and he Tweeted his regret over the level of violence in the movie. He said, “I am not ashamed of it, but recent events have caused a change in my heart.”
10. Christopher Plummer
The Sound of Music is one of the most famous musicals of all time, but Christopher Plummer-Captain Von Trapp himself–is NOT one of its fans. He declined the 2005 Sound of Music reunion, and even calls the movie The Sound of Mucus.
